The iPhone apps world reminds me of the gold rush, everybody hurrying for their little nugget. Somewhat it is in the american DNA, run to prevail, the reward is at the horizon and it will be huge.
This morning I ran into an app that is genius.
It's called Barcode Scanner. Grabbed my attention because I could use it at work. You just hover the iphone, camera on, on a barcode and it will read it. Cool, a barcode reader.
Well, it's not just that.
If you are scanning a product, the app will connect to stores online and find the best price. Will offer to buy online with one click. Also, accesses a products database that will have info and reviews on the product, so it becomes useful even after the purchase, when you want to find a manual or a replacement part.
As simple as it looks, this is going to accelerate the revolution on our shopping habits.
I can see how this will evolve, and I am curious to see how the stores chains will react to it, and who will prevail.
